Heartsaver® First Aid CPR AED for K-12 Students, Faculty, & Staff, Bus Drivers is a classroom, hands on  instructor-led course that teaches Lee county Teachers, Coaches and Bus Drivers critical skills needed to respond to and manage a first aid, choking or sudden cardiac arrest emergency in the first few minutes until emergency medical services (EMS) arrives

The Heartsaver for K-12 Schools eCard is the digital version of the Heartsaver for K-12 Schools printed course completion card. It is a valid, more secure, and preferred alternative to the printed card. Heartsaver for K-12 Schools eCards should be issued to students and school faculty who successfully complete Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED, Heartsaver CPR AED, or Heartsaver First Aid courses in K-12 schools.

A typical CPR certification for lee county School Bus Drivers, Teacher , Coach class requires about 3 hours to complete. Upon successful completion of this class, You will receive a First Aid CPR and AED certification card that will remain valid for two years

You’ll be surprised how empowered you feel after becoming CPR certified if you’re ever in an emergency situation.

Summary of CPR Certification Requirements for Florida:

The Florida Department of Education does not require Teachers to maintain a CPR certification for licensure. However, individual school districts may require to have a current Adult, Child, and Infant Pediatric CPR, AED and First Aid certification upon employment.

An act relating to first aid training in public 3 schools; amending s. 1003.453, F.S.; revising the 4 grade levels that school districts are encouraged to 5 provide certain first aid training; requiring school 6 districts to provide certain first aid to specified 7 grade levels; providing requirements for such 8 training; providing an effective date. 9 10 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: 11 12 Section 1. Subsection (3) of section 1003.453, Florida 13 Statutes, is amended to read: 14 1003.453 School wellness and physical education policies; 15 nutrition guidelines.— 16 (3) School districts are encouraged to provide basic 17 training in first aid, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation, 18 for all students, beginning in grade 6 and grade 8 every 2 years 19 thereafter. School districts are required to provide basic 20 training in first aid, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation, 21 for all students in grade 9 and grade 11. Instruction in the use 22 of cardiopulmonary resuscitation must be based on a one-hour, 23 nationally recognized program that uses the most current 24 evidence-based emergency cardiovascular care guidelines. This act shall take effect July 1, 2021
